Home Visits in Podebrady

Yesterday we wrapped up English camp and headed to Podebrady, the city where most of the students from camp live. We have been staying in students homes and have experienced amazing hospitality from our hosts.

This morning we visited the church that sponsored the English Camps and then toured several neighboring cities with several students from camp.

Tomorrow we head to Prague for a time of debriefing and some sight seeing!

Thank you for praying for our team and the camp. Many students heard the gospel this week, some for the very first time!

Please continue to pray for the students we worked with and please pray for our safe travel back home.

English Camp: Day 7

So this is the last full day of English camp. Its hard to believe how fast this week has gone! Tonight there were several testimonies shared of lives which God has redeemed. Please pray for great conversations tonight centered on the Gospel and the forgiveness found in the work of Jesus.

Tomorrow we all leave camp and will be spending a couple days in students homes in Podebrady. Then, on Monday we will head to Prague for some debriefing with the other American teams that have been ministering in CEch this week. We will spend Tuesday in Prague together as a team and then head home on Wednesday.

Thanks for all your prayers these last two weeks. We miss you Core Life Church and feel so very blessed to have been sent by you to preach the Gospel in another land.

Looking forward to sharing our experiences with you when we get home.

English Camp: Day 6

Tonight is Gospel night! We have been sharing stories about redemption all week but they have all been leading up to the ultimate story of redemption found only in Jesus. Please pray for the evening program tonight as many pieces of the week will be tied together by the story of the gospel.

The team is doing great. Melissa is feeling a little better today as are the other women. Thanks for praying for them!

We only have 2 more days of camp. It’s hard to believe this week has gone so fast. Please pray for relationships to continue to deepen and that we would love these students so well that they see the love of God for them.

English Camp: Day 4

Today has been another great day at camp! We are making lots of great relationships and the team is doing a great job. Today we went on a 15K hike today to a pond that we swam in so we’re feeling a bit spent.

Please pray for the health of the team. Many of the girls are experiencing severe pain either neck, back or stomach. I will be driving Melissa to the hospital in the morning so please pray for safe travel and that the doctors can help her get some relief.

The evening programs are going well too. Tonight we talked about David and Bathsheba and the themes of redemption and second chances. Please pray for good conversations tonight.

English Camp: Day 2

So far today is off to a great start. Our team has hit it off really well with the Josiah Venture intern team and another American team who is at camp with us this week. We get along great, have a ton of fun, share a common ministry vision and are so pumped to be working together.

The Czech students all speak great English so conversations have been pretty easy so far. They are a super fun group who already have jumped right into camp.

The evening program kicks into high gear tonight. The theme for the week is redeem and tonight we will be telling the story of Rahab. Please pray for Rob as he prepares for tonight and pray for the discussion groups that will follow.

English Camp: Day 1

35 Czech students arrived at camp today. We have already had a great time getting to know the students. The atmosphere has been very positive and it seems that they are all excited to be at camp and looking forward to getting to know us. This week in the evenings we will be talking about the theme redemption. Please pray for Rob, Ales, Gabe and Joe as we prepare the evening talks.

Please pray for the relationships that our team will be building with these students and that we would be bold to share the gospel clearly with them.

Please also pray for the spiritual battle that we are engaged in. We ask you to pray for our protection from evil and that God would continue to empower us for this ministry.

Update

After 35 hours of traveling by plane and by bus the team made it safely to Josiah Venture’s training facility Malenovice! Thanks for praying for safe travels. Yesterday we had our first of two days of training with about 200 other English speakers from the US and Ireland. The day was filled with worship, prayer, Czech History, getting to know the US intern team that we are working with and the Czech team that we are working with, English teaching instruction and a taste of what our evening program will be like. Today we will have the second and final day of training and Friday we take about a 7 hour train ride to the other side of the county. Camp starts on Saturday! Our team is doing great though a little tired. Please pray for some good rest, safe travels and for the Czech students that do not know Jesus that we will be building relationships with.
